In the midst of the wild, romantic Black Forest landscape, there is the lively little town of Triberg with its surrounding villages Nußbach and Gremmelsbach. There is a lot to see and do here: the Black Forest Museum with a surface of 1,600 sqm offers a unique treat for the eyes and ears. The Baroque pilgrimage church with the charming sexton's lodge and the town hall with its magnificent wood carvings are masterpieces of architecture and handicraft.

Germany's highest waterfalls are a must!
The foaming waters of river Gutach are thundering down over several cascades into a depth of 163 m.

You can admire this fantastic spectacle of nature from the paths along the 7 cascades.

Once a year, there is a special event for kids and grown-ups: everybody is charmed by the fireworks at Germany's highest waterfalls!

In Triberg, there is always something going on. Whether programmes for kids and adults, romantic rides on the Black Forest railway passing through many tunnels or cheerful festivals – you will never feel bored in Triberg.
The villages Nußbach and Gremmelsbach are ideal places to relax. Typical Black Forest farmhouses offer their hospitality and would be glad to welcome you.

With its schools, kindergartens, educational and conference centres as well as with its great variety of restaurants, industries and recreational facilities, Triberg provides an excellent infrastructure. Triberg is connected to the national roads B33 and B500, the station is a stop for the Interregio train of the Black Forest railroad Offenburg – Konstanz.

Welcome in Schonach -
the place where you find the world's biggest cuckoo clock!

4.60 m long and a weight of 150 kg – these are the incredible dimensions of the bird. A monster from Jurassic Park? Far from it! The mega cuckoo is part of the world's biggest cuckoo clock. This clock measures 4.50 x 4.50 m, has a total weight of not less than six tons and it took five years to complete it. This super clock can be admired in the Clock Park Eble in Schonachbach. Not far away, at the clockmaker's Josef Dold, there is another giant cuckoo clock which is also likely to break all records. Here you can also learn a lot about the art of making Black Forest clocks.
In Schonach, we have more unusual things in store for our guests. For example, a summer hit for all skiing fans. Every Wednesday, they have the opportunity to visit the "Langenwaldschanze" near Schonach – the ski jump where celebrated ski jump cracks like Georg Hettich and Alexander Herr are at home. And those who are less interested in sports can admire the beautiful old costumes, furniture and many memories of the good old times in the local heritage museum in Schonach. Here you will also find the famous Christmas crib built by Meinrad Spät, which is estimated to have a value of almost 500,000 euros.

Being one of 17 family-friendly holiday resorts, Schonach offers a comprehensive programme for children and families. We are always trying to find new attractions for the little ones. Schonach is also well known for its beautiful hiking area. Come and spend some wonderful days in our region, which has the highest density of biotopes and nature reserves in Germany! Or do you already know the slowest hiking trail in the Black Forest? For further information please contact the Tourist Information office.

We would be glad to welcome you as our guests!
